Perched in a prime spot in Saint-Nazaire with a scenic view over Place de l’Amérique-Latine and the historic submarine base, Le Kili Beach is a vibrant brasserie with a unique atmosphere. Open continuously, it welcomes guests into an exotic setting with a lively, punchy ambiance. The menu brings together a blend of land and sea dishes, along with shareable platters that encourage social dining.
As Le Kili Beach continued to grow in popularity, so did the demands on its team. Owners Marie and Hugo Charcolin realized the need to support their staff in managing physically demanding tasks while preserving what matters most: the human connection between servers and customers.
“We thought it would be interesting to have serving robots that could assist the team with heavy lifting,” explains Marie. By reducing the time spent on tasks like carrying large volumes of dishes or trays to and from the kitchen, staff could refocus their energy on engaging with customers and enhancing the overall dining experience.
Waitress Emilie Rosier-Garry highlighted the daily struggles: “During busy times, carrying trays and clearing tables gets challenging. It can become overwhelming to manage everything, especially with large tables that require extra attention.”
In response to these challenges, United Robotics Group’s uServe robot was introduced, and it quickly became an essential tool for the team. uServe’s design allows it to carry multiple dishes and heavy trays effortlessly, reducing strain on staff and improving workflow efficiency. Emilie notes, “With the two uServe robots, we can quickly clear tables and even use them in the morning for setup.” Tables with numerous guests are managed so much easier.”says
Jessica Lelet, dining room manager. She adds that uServe has streamlined operations significantly, cutting down on the number of trips needed to clear tables. “With uServe’s four-tiered design, we can load everything in one go and make fewer trips. The mapping technology has adapted smoothly to our space, even recognizing fixed objects over time,” Jessica explains. “Now, our staff can spend more time with customers, creating a more enjoyable experience for everyone.”concludes Emilie
