uLog Locker: secure delivery that only the recipient opens

uLog Series

Two locked compartments, access by NFC or QR code, documented handover. The Locker turns the uLog Deliver 150 into a mobile locker system.

Open trays are the real problem

Almost all hospital transport robots drive with an open tray. That works as long as nothing is on it that not everyone is allowed to see or take. As soon as medicines, controlled drugs, laboratory samples or personal documents are involved, automation ends at the same point every time: someone has to stand by until the recipient arrives.

The uLog Locker solves exactly that. It turns the uLog Deliver 150 into a mobile, lockable locker system. Load, lock, send off — it is only opened at the destination, and only by the person who is allowed to.

uLog Deliver 150 + Locker top module = secured, automated handover.

Lock. Transport. Automate.

  • Closed handover chain: the goods are physically locked from loading to removal and assigned to a recipient. No open tray, no mix-up, no gap in the record.
  • Authenticated removal: the compartment opens after identification by NFC card or QR code at the 7-inch display. Electronic locks, RGB status bar, guided operation.
  • Two separate compartments: 50 kg payload, up to 110 litres. Two recipients, two tasks, one run — halving the distance walked per task.
  • The robot does not wait: once the handover is complete, it picks up the next task on its own. Nobody has to sign off, nobody stands at the handover point.
  • Retrofittable: the Locker is a top module. If you already operate a uLog Deliver 150, you retrofit it — mounting and removal take little time.

How a handover works

  1. Load and lock the compartment.
  2. The robot drives autonomously to the destination — through automatic doors and by lift, where both are connected.
  3. The recipient authenticates with an NFC card or QR code at the display.
  4. The compartment opens, the removal is documented, and the robot moves on to its next task.

Where it is used

  • Hospitals and laboratories: laboratory samples, consumables, medicines and controlled drugs with a documented handover.
  • Care facilities: supplies between residential areas without care staff walking the distances.
  • Hotels: contactless delivery of room service and guest items, secure handover of documents and parcels.
  • Industry and manufacturing: spare parts straight to the workstation, internal replenishment.
  • Retail: click and collect as secured pick-up, returns back to defined zones.
  • Airports, office buildings and events: secure delivery in extensive, publicly accessible areas.

Your robot. Your data.

Who opened which compartment and when is information about the people who work in your organisation. It stays with you. You decide on storage, analysis and deletion, and you define who may start tasks and grant permissions — the basis for a data protection impact assessment and co-determination.

Retrofit instead of buying new

Already operating a uLog Deliver 150? Then you do not need a second robot. The Locker is mounted, configured and put into operation — the same fleet, the same interface, one additional use case.

Buy or rent: Robot-as-a-Service

The uLog Locker is available for purchase or as Robot-as-a-Service with a monthly rate. A trial phase is possible, and its costs are credited against a subsequent purchase. That lets you assess the deployment before an investment decision is due. We do not publish prices, because configuration, the connection to doors and lifts and the number of sites decide the outcome.

Try it first

Before a robot moves in your facility, your workflow has already run at ours: at our training centres in Stuhr (laboratory and diagnostics) and Gelsenkirchen (hospital and care) we rehearse your workflow on a real set-up. Book a training-centre visit.

Frequently asked questions

How does the recipient open the compartment?

With an NFC card or a QR code at the 7-inch display. The electronic lock only releases after successful identification.

How many compartments does the uLog Locker have?

Two separate compartments that are locked and opened independently of each other. That allows two tasks to be completed in one run.

How heavy may the load be?

Up to 50 kg with a load volume of up to 110 litres.

Can the Locker be retrofitted?

Yes. The Locker is a top module for the uLog Deliver 150 and can be mounted and removed again.

Does the robot use lifts?

Yes, provided lift and door control are connected. This connection is implemented per project.

Is the Locker disinfectable?

The body is made of stainless steel and is wipe-disinfectable. The protection rating is IP44.

Is the Locker available on a rental model?

Yes, as Robot-as-a-Service with a monthly rate. A preceding trial phase is possible.

The next step

Tell us which handover ties someone up in your organisation today — medicines, samples, consumables. We will tell you whether the Locker solves it, and if it does not, we will say that too.

only the recipient opens

Two compartments, two recipients, one run.

The two compartments are locked and opened independently of each other. That allows two tasks to be completed in a single run — ward A and ward B, without the robot having to go back in between.

The body is made of stainless steel, is wipe-disinfectable and protected against splash water to IP44. Built for organisations that disinfect every day.

The difference is the lock.

A transport robot with an open tray takes things from A to B. That is useful as long as nobody has to prove who removed them.

As soon as medicines, controlled drugs, laboratory samples or personal documents are involved, the equation tips: once again someone stands there and waits. The Locker ends the waiting, because the handover itself is secured and documented.
