Spotlight on Our Robots at Tech&Fest: Plato, Nao, and Pepper GPT

  • Jupiter AI Package NAO: The integration of NAO robots into Jupyter Notebook presents a valuable opportunity for educators. By leveraging real-time data manipulation from NAO sensors and remote control over robot movements, teachers can enhance coding, data science, and machine learning classes, creating interactive and hands-on learning experiences. Jupyter Notebook's user-friendly interface allows for seamless programming of NAO, enabling educators to integrate text, code, visualizations, and images on a single page. This unified environment supports efficient lesson planning, collaborative teaching, and exposure to real-world robotics applications, making the educational experience engaging and adaptable to various curricular needs.
  • NAO Maze: NAO navigates through a maze using advanced ArUco marker detection technology. Equipped with sensors, cameras, NAO has the ability to recognize ArUco markers, which are patterns that can be used for localization and navigation. This type of technology is commonly used in the field of robotics for tasks like mapping, path planning, and obstacle avoidance. The process generally involves capturing images through the robot's cameras, identifying ArUco markers in those images, and then using this information to make decisions about movement and direction within the maze.
  • Pepper GPT : Incorporating Pepper with ChatGPT introduces a new dimension of interactivity and expressivity. Unlike traditional text-based interactions, the integration of a physical robot enhances communication by providing a tangible and responsive presence. As users engage with ChatGPT through the robot, they not only receive textual responses but also experience dynamic expressions, gestures, and real-time interactions. The robot's ability to convey emotions, emphasize key points, and express nuances amplifies the richness of communication. Whether it's a friendly wave, a nod of agreement, or a thoughtful pause, the robot adds a layer of non-verbal communication that goes beyond the limitations of text alone. Furthermore, users can witness the synchronization of ChatGPT's responses with the robot's movements, creating a more immersive and engaging dialogue. This synergy between advanced language processing and physical expression makes the interaction not only informative but also entertaining.

In educational settings, the combination of ChatGPT and a robot offers an innovative approach to interactive learning. Students can receive personalized assistance, ask questions, and engage in dynamic conversations that mimic real-world interactions. The robot's expressivity fosters a more natural and relatable exchange, making the learning experience both effective and enjoyable.

  • Plato : Plato is the first serving cobiot, designed to assist & to augment service and hospitality workers by completing common tasks that interfere with the primary goal of delivering the best customer experience possible. With no programming required and controlled by humans, Plato supports a variety of tasks to create better working conditions that allow staff to focus on guests. Plato is designed in Paris made in France sourced in Europe. 68% of the value sourced in Europe and 48% of the value sourced in France. This bussing robot has an autonomy of 12-15 hours in continuous use, and it can carry a maximum of 30 kg in total. Plato navigates effortlessly in a crowded environment and dynamically avoids obstacles in real-time.

We invite you to join us at Tech&fest 2024 for an immersive experience with our innovative robotics technologies. Explore the future of robotics with United Robotics Group as we redefine possibilities and demonstrate the practical applications of our cutting-edge creations. See you there!
