In the laboratory of Asklepios Klinik Bad Oldesloe, two uLab Duo systems work right in the middle of operations — autonomously for 16 hours, and hand in hand with the team beyond that. No special setup, no separated area: the robots use the same paths as their colleagues and operate the same instruments.
This is exactly where laboratory automation is decided. Not whether a robot can technically master a task, but whether it performs reliably for weeks. Capacity is not the problem in most labs — staffing is. The team decides which mode runs: autonomous or hand in hand, switchable during operation.
The video shows two and a half minutes of real operation: sample handling, instrument connection, handovers. No rendering, no studio footage.
uLab Duo is part of the uLab technology platform. Systems in the series can be purchased or rented as robot-as-a-service; operating data stays in-house.
