Paris/Bochum, 14 September 2023 - United Robotics Group, the European service robotics leader, will participate in Lisbon’s World Aviation Festival from September 26-28, presenting service robotics solutions for the future of airport experiences at the premier aviation industry event. The group’s service robots, Plato and RB Watcher will be present and interacting with guests at their stand, Pavilion 2, Number 238.
The World Aviation Festival is a dynamic platform for the company to present its robotic solutions for the airport industry for the first time – bringing together industry experts, operators and partners to explore trends and solutions that will drive the industry’s innovation.
On September 27, United Robotics Group co-CEO Thomas Linkenheil will discuss how the integration of robotics in airport masterplans can ensure relevancy and unique passenger experiences in the years to come on a panel with Luis Felipe de Oliveira, Director General of ACI World, Fred Lam, CEO of Hong Kong International Airport and Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports. The discussion will focus on how airports can build collaborations and partnerships that will optimize their future operations and serve as a springboard for latest tech innovations.
“The world has effectively ‘re-opened’ since the Covid-19 pandemic, with airport reaching, if not exceeding pre-pandemic footfall,” explains Thomas Linkenheil, Co-CEO of United Robotics Group. “This traffic is proof that the industry is recovering but also brings new challenges including creating new and flexible airport experiences and responding to the sustainable growth objectives of airports and the industry at large. We believe service robotics can play multiple roles in the new airport transit, from streamlining hospitality experiences to supporting security teams with increased sensorial capacities.”
Plato – Enhancing airport hospitality
Plato, the first serving cobiot, will be presented for airport hospitality, from catering to lounge experiences, empowering service workers and elevating the overall airport experience. The key features demonstrated include automating repetitive tasks including heavy lifting, adaptability in changing and fast-moving environments, intelligent obstacle avoidance and remote control and modification for task executions.
RB Watcher – A new companion for airport security teams
United Robotics Group will also present its security and surveillance solution, RB Watcher that provides support to airside security teams with elevated sensory versatility including thermographic sensing, smart navigation and heightened safety for possibly dangerous interventions. Visitors will be able to experience RB Watcher in action on the company’s booth where demonstrations showcasing its capacity to navigate challenging terrains will be organized.
The World Aviation Festival will take place from September 26-28 at the Lisbon Exhibition and Congress Center.
