Bochum – 16 April 2024 - The United Robotics Group (URG), European market leader in service robotics, will be presenting its range of products and services at the ALTENPFLEGE trade fair in Essen from 23 to 25 April. On stand 22 in hall 5, the group will be showing sophisticated mobile robotic solutions. These make an important contribution to overcoming challenges such as the shortage of skilled workers and demographic change, particularly in the care and healthcare sector. As the leading trade fair for the care sector and a forum for the latest developments and innovations, this year's ALTENPFLEGE will focus on topics such as sustainability, energy, digitalisation, connected living and innovations.

Alexander Pröll, Director Health & Care of the United Robotics Group, will give a presentation on 'Robotics and AI for the Health & Care sector' at the IT & Management Forum on April 25 from 2:40-3:00pm. "The use of robotics solutions and AI can play a decisive role here. The focus is on relieving the burden on nursing staff in their day-to-day work and contributing to optimized work organization and quality of life - a decisive element in ensuring the entire industry's ability to function and act," explains Alexander Pröll.

Pepper, Plato & NAO: Perfect helpers for routine tasks and working with patients

The Pepper & Robot.Care solution is the perfect combination of a humanoid robot and a pioneering software application designed specifically for use in the care sector. This enables Pepper to assist care home residents, providing them with attention and care - significantly improving their quality of life. Thanks to its emotional design and advanced sensor technology, the robot can not only inform people, but also motivate and entertain them. The Robot.Care application can be expanded according to individual needs.

While Pepper is primarily dedicated to residents of retirement homes and therapy facilities, the Cobiot Plato was developed to support employees. The service robot has all the features and equipment required to take over routine tasks reliably and safely. It can be used for the delivery of meals, medication, sanitary and consumer hygiene and the disposal of waste. Plato's adaptability ensures that workflows are not interrupted in the busy hospital environment.

Plato is optimally complemented by 'HelpChat', a solution from Medventi GmbH. This is a platform-independent digital bridge between staff and patients or residents of a facility. They can make a call via smartphone or tablet, which is automatically forwarded to the staff. Instead of pressing the emergency call button, patients can use this method to request drinks or towels, as well as help from a nurse. As a result, the actual emergency call is used less often and nursing staff can coordinate their resources much better.

NAO, the third solution exhibited at the URG stand, is revolutionizing physiotherapy in rehabilitation centers and hospitals in combination with InRobics. The humanoid robot increases patient motivation and attention in individual and group therapy sessions, daily routines and through entertaining challenges. The package also includes special data analysis and reporting tools. These enable medical staff to optimize therapy plans based on individual responses.

URG will also present the ROBERT® solution from Life Sciences Robotics. The ROBERT® robot is designed to assist in physical rehabilitation and therapy, significantly reducing the therapist's workload. It can aid patients in recovering from injuries or surgeries by providing support in training for both upper and lower extremities. ROBERT® is equipped with progress tracking features and reporting capabilities to evaluate patient performance and adjust rehabilitation programs accordingly. This robot is versatile and adaptable to the specific needs of each patient, providing a personalized and effective rehabilitation approach. Life Science Robotics is a Danish company developing innovative robotic solutions for the healthcare sector, dedicated to prioritize the quality of care for patients.

The geriatric care trade fair provides the ideal setting for URG's solutions: for a health and care ecosystem that is becoming increasingly digital and provides those affected with completely new options. Visitors to the URG stand will be able to see this for themselves during talks and product demonstrations.
