Key Figures

20-30%

20-30% of hospital operational costs are tied to inefficiencies in logistics and inventory management.

46%

46% of nurses’ working time is spent on non-clinical tasks like transporting equipment and supplies.

1 in 10

1 in 10 hospital patients contract a healthcare-associated infection (HAI) due to inadequate hygiene practices.

50%

50% of healthcare-associated infection (HAIs) could be prevented with better cleaning and hygiene solutions.

Transport, cleaning, laboratory work and reception take up time every day that is missing elsewhere. This page shows which of those tasks robotics takes on today, and how the route there works.

Where the time goes

In hospitals and care homes, working time disappears every day into tasks that are neither nursing nor medicine: fetching supplies, moving laundry, carrying samples, cleaning floors, directing visitors, waiting for deliveries. That time appears in no billing record, and it is missing where qualified staff are needed.

This is where robotics applies. It takes over journeys and repetition and gives time back to the work people are trained for. Where that pays off is what the route analysis shows: it starts with the routes that recur and are hard to staff — not with the choice of device.

Four areas where robotics works today

Transport and logistics

Supplies, laundry and samples between wards, laboratory, pharmacy and central stores. uLog runs recurring routes on its own, through doors and across floors where lifts are integrated. For access-protected items there is a secured variant with release at handover. → Transport robots in hospitals · Secured transport

Cleaning

Floor cleaning in corridors, halls and functional areas. The systems log which area was covered and when — a basis for planning and organising cleaning. Hygienic effectiveness follows from your cleaning and disinfection plan and is assessed through it, not through the log. → Cleaning robots for hospitals

Laboratory

uLab Mobile works at the bench and not only between benches: taking over samples, moving between instruments, handling. For hospital laboratories that want to automate without building a track system. → Mobile laboratory robot · Lab automation without a track system

Reception and interaction

uMe takes on tasks in entrance areas and in interaction with patients and residents: addressing people, showing the way, giving information, encouraging activity. That creates time for the attention people provide. → Service robots in hospitals · Service robots in care homes · Humanoid robots in care

What a project needs

Three points are worth settling early, so that planning holds:

The building. Route widths, doors, lifts, network coverage and charging points determine which routes qualify. The site survey settles that before the quote.

The workflows. Who hands over what to whom and where, what happens when something deviates, how the robot fits into existing routines. These questions decide the benefit more than the technology does.

Data and employee representation. Which data your configuration produces, where it is processed and which of it leaves the building is documented before deployment. That document is the basis for data protection impact assessments, employee representation and regulators. In uGo+ you define who may start which tasks, and task logs can be viewed. How those logs may be used in your organisation belongs in your internal agreement.

Funding

You can buy, or use the robot under Robot-as-a-Service. Under the model of use you pay an agreed monthly rate; scope of service, one-off costs, contract term and integration work are set out in the quote. Depending on the type of organisation, its ownership and the region, funding and refinancing routes may apply. → Robot-as-a-Service · Funding robots in care

Three steps to deployment

First conversation. We go through the workflow that is to be relieved and tell you what we need in order to assess it reliably.

Demonstration. Before you decide, we invite you to a demonstration arranged with you. Which workflows are shown, and at which site, is agreed with you in advance.

Site survey, quote, installation. Site survey, binding quote and installation including training for your team.

Why United Robotics Group

A manufacturer with its own development. Development, integration and service of our own series come from us.

Experience in regulated environments. Our systems work in hospitals, care homes and laboratories — environments where reliability, documentation and employee representation are part of the project.

uGo+ as a shared interface. Tasks, permissions and reporting run through one interface; which functions are available for your series and configuration is set out in the quote.

Seeing it before deciding. Before a decision is made, the planned workflow can be shown in a demonstration arranged with you.

Frequently asked questions

Where does robotics pay off first in a hospital?

Where routes are long, repetitions frequent and shifts hard to staff — often in supply logistics between central stores, wards and the laboratory. The route analysis shows which routes those are in your building.

Do robots replace nursing staff?

No. They take over journeys and repetition. The effect is time going back into care.

What documentation does employee representation need?

We document, for your configuration, which data is produced, where it is processed and which logs can be viewed. That document is the basis for employee representation and for the data protection impact assessment; the rules for your organisation are set out in your internal agreement.

What does our building need to provide?

For the transport robots: sufficiently wide routes, suitable doors and lifts, network coverage and charging points. What is already there and what needs to be added is shown by the site survey before the quote.

Does this work in a care home as well as a hospital?

Yes, with a different emphasis: in care homes, cleaning, supply and activity come first; in hospitals, logistics. The pages for care homes and hospitals address them separately.

What does it cost?

We do not publish prices, because configuration and integration scope decide the figure. In the first conversation we put purchase and use side by side and show the assumptions.
